1. Inventory Optimization Initiative

The client is a major consumer products company operating globally. The client is optimizing customer service levels with the amount of finished product, bulk and raw materials safety stocks across the supply chain network. They selected SmartOps MIPO(R) (Multi Echelon Inventory Planning and Optimization) to solve this complex problem. This project involved integrating their existing SAP ERP, SCM and BIW systems with SmartOps. SPIREOPS is playing a key role in this project since we have an excellent understanding about the SAP ERP/SCM/BIW systems as well as algorithms and functionality in supply chain inventory optimization packages. We have devised solutions from a Supply Chain planning and Inventory Optimization perspective to address complex supply chain scenarios such as SubContracting, Multi Sourcing, SKU transition etc. We have designed a fully automated solution architecture which integrates SAP ECC, SCM/APO and BIW with SmartOps. This includes 2-way data traffic to and from SmartOps MIPO, with Inventory targets coming back to APO. This will be one of the first fully automated and integrated solutions between SAP ECC/SCM/BIW and SmartOps using MIPO 6.3 and Gateway/DataStore 6.3. This project has realized a very quick ROI and the initiative will help the client realize huge savings over the next couple of years.

The client is a major pharmaceuticals company operating globally. The client is interested in optimizing safety stocks across their distribution network and affiliate locations and maintain a high customer service level. They selected SmartOps MIPO(R) (Multi Echelon Inventory Planning and Optimization) to solve this complex optimization problem. This project involved integrating their existing SAP ERP, SCM and BIW systems with SmartOps. SPIREOPS is actively engaged on this project from a functional and technical consulting perspective.

2. Improved Forecast Accuracy/Collaborative Planning Project

The client is a major technology company and a global provider of products, technologies, solutions and services to consumers and business. The solution we developed was an end-to-end integrated planning solution that accelerates supply and demand information visibility and accessibility to drive better asset utilization and improved service levels for IPG products. We implemented a collaborative planning solution to share demand forecasts with key customers and have real time updates into the overall demand planning process. The following objectives were achieved as a result of this initiative - Reduce cycle times, eliminated information lags, increased their decision making capability, reduce inventory costs, and increase their regional responsiveness to market change, reduce their total system cost of ownership and improve product lifecycle management.SPIREOPS' role was that of providing senior APO expertise in the areas of APO-Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP) and BW.

3. Supply Chain Re-engineering/Integration/Production and Asset Utilization Initiative

The client is a major chemical company operating globally with revenues over $24 Billion annually. This was a global SAP R/3 4.6C, APO 3.0A and BW 2.0B project where SPIREOPS played a key role in this implementation and provided highly experienced resources in the supply chain, production planning, sales & distribution and service management functions. Our resources defined and mapped existing and re-engineered business processes to a solution, which consists of SAP R/3, APO, BW integrated with a WMS system using the ASAP methodology. We implemented this solution over 15 manufacturing sites and 60 warehouses worldwide for over 7 different businesses in this SBU. The APO modules implemented were DP, SNP and Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling (PPDS). We have also helped them build their strategy for a CRM implementation using mySAP CRM.
